Creative Evening ‘Mixed Media – Creative journey of discovery’ • Thursday, 24 September 2026 I 6-8.30 pm I Basel
The Creative Evenings are back! In September we will re-starte the creative gatherings at the new studio with shop at Elsässerstrasse 25 in Basel!
We will kick things off with Mixed Media and – as the word suggests – explore different media and how they can be combined!
On beautiful handmade artist’s paper we will combine different materials: acrylic paint, watercolor, gouache, wax pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, acrylic ink, …. Layers, textures, interesting combinations – during this evening we will test, combine, improvise – simply “discover”.
What you can expect – your Creative Evening at a glance:
- Theme: Mixed media on handmade KHADI artist’s paper (320 gsm) – a creative journey of discovery with different media
- Course of events: We will start with a brief walk-through of the materials we will be using, as well as preparing the workspace and the special handmade paper. Then we begin painting two abstract mixed media paintings (size approx. 20 x 20 cm) in parallel. I will give you step-by-step creative guidance on which medium to use and how to apply it. You can choose the colors yourself (the photos are only examples). If there is still time available after completing the two paintings, you can work freely on a third painting.
- Suitable for everyone: No previous knowledge or any special skills required – just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
- Everything included: All materials (handmade paper, paints, pastels, pencils, brushes etc.) and drinks (water, tea, coffee). Just come and get started.
- Small group: maximum 6-8 people – for a personal, relaxed atmosphere.
- Course language: German and English (depending on the needs of the participants)

How to get there:
- by public transport: Take tram No. 11 to the Mühlhauserstrasse stop, or BVB bus line 30 to the Johanniterbrücke stop (approx. 450 m walk)
- by car: Parking is available in the St. Johanns neighborhood in the Blue Zone (with a parking disc, you may park for 1 hour during the day from Mon–Sat, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. From 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM and on Sundays, parking is usually free). Nearest parking garage: Parkhaus City at the University Hospital (approx. 800 m walk)
- by bicycle: Bike parking is located diagonally across the street from the studio at the entrance to St. Johanns Park

Enrollment/Booking
Enrollment for the workshop is possible via purchase on the website/online shop, via the contact form or with me personally. It is binding and will be considered in the order in which it is received.
Enrollment for this Creative Evening is possible until Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at 11:59 pm.
Payment of course fee
You can choose between the following payment methods at checkout:
- TWINT,
- credit card or
- payment by invoice (bank transfer). If you chose to pay by invoice, you will receive a QR invoice from me by e-mail within 1-2 days after completing the order process in the shop.
Please pay the course fee before the course begins.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of the booking is free of charge up to 7 days before the workshop, i.e. 17 September 2026 (inclusive).
If the cancellation occurs
- later than 7 days before the workshop (i.e., after September 17, 2026), 25% of the course fee will be charged;
- between 3 days and 24 hours before the course, 50% of the course fee will be charged.
For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start of the course, or in the event of absence, no refund of the course fee will be granted.
Refunds of course fees after the start of the course are generally excluded.
If you need to cancel at short notice, you can transfer your place to another person. In this case, please let me know the name of the replacement in advance.
Non-payment of the course fee does not constitute cancellation. In cases of hardship, such as prolonged illness or accident certified by a doctor, a maximum of 50% of the course fees can be refunded or credited towards a new course. The decision on whether to grant a credit will only be made upon written request.
