Creative Evening ‘Mix it! – journey into color mixing’ – Thu, 11 September 2025 I 6-8pm I Basel
This Creative Evening is for anyone who wants to not only use colors but also understand them – instead of just relying on ready-made shades. Together, we will develop a solid foundation with the primary colors so that you can mix colors confidently and purposefully in the future. Basic knowledge for your own painting practice at home.
We work with acrylic paints, which mix well and are versatile – so the course is also suitable for beginners. Your new knowledge can also be applied to other painting media.
We will start by mixing warm and cool primary colors (red, yellow, blue). What role does color temperature play? We will clearly see the different effects! We will also try out how to tint colors with white and black, i.e. lighten or darken them.
Then you will learn how to mix a chromatic black and colored grays – without using black from a tube.
In another color exercise, you will combine two complementary colors (which you choose yourself) and discover how many surprising and beautiful nuances can result.
What you can expect:
- Theme: Start your journey into color mixing by learning the most important basics of color mixing
- Course of events: Together, we will do various color mixing exercises with the primary colors red, yellow, and blue. We will start with two classic color wheels or color triangles, respectively, with the warm and cool primary colors. We will also use white and black to mix lighter and darker shades. In the next short exercise, we will mix chromatic black and colored gray tones. Then we will experiment to see what surprising colors we can mix from two complementary colors of your choice.
- Suitable for everyone: No prior knowledge required – ideal for beginners or those returning to painting.
- Included: All materials (high-quality acrylic paints, paper, mixing palettes, brushes) and drinks (water, tea, coffee).
- Small group: Maximum of 4 people – for a personal, relaxed atmosphere.
- Course language: German and English (depending on the needs of the participants)

Enrollment/Booking
Enrollment is possible via purchase on the website/online shop, via the contact form or with me personally. It is binding and will be considered in the order of receipt.
Enrollment for this Creative Evening is possible until 09 September 2025 at 11:59 pm.
Payment of course fee
At checkout, you can choose between the payment methods TWINT, credit card or payment by invoice (bank transfer). If you chose to pay by invoice, you will receive a QR invoice from me by e-mail within 1-2 days after completing the order process in the shop. Please pay the course fee before the course starts.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of the booking is free of charge up to 7 days before the event (i.e. by 4 September 2025).
If cancellation occurs less than 7 days before the workshop, 25% of the course fee will be charged. For cancellations between 3 days and 1 day before the course, 50% of the course fee will be charged.
No course fee reduction or refund will be granted for cancellations on the day of the course or in the event of absence. As a rule, course fees will not be refunded after the course has started.
If you have to cancel at short notice, you can transfer your place on the course to a replacement participant. In this case, please let me know the name of the replacement participant in advance.
Non-payment of the course fee does not count as de-registration. In cases of hardship, such as prolonged and medically proven illness or an accident, a maximum of 50% of the course fees can be refunded or credited towards a new course. The decision as to whether a credit will be granted will only be made following a written request.
